UVC Adapter with Arducam 12MP IMX477 is too dark

  1. Where did you get the camera module(s)?
    https://robotshop.com

  2. Model number of the product(s)?

  • Arducam 12MP IMX477 (B0262)
  • CSI-USB UVC Adapter Board for 12.3MP IMX477 (B0278)
  1. What hardware/platform were you working on?
    Mac

  2. Instructions you have followed. (link/manual/etc.)

  • Using raspivid on Raspberry Pi via CSI interface
  • Using on Mac via USB UVC and open source app CameraController
  1. Problems you were having?
Image is way too dark and thus unusable via the USB UVC adapter board. Tested on a Mac (both Intel and M1).

  2. The dmesg log from your hardware?

  3. Troubleshooting attempts you’ve made?
Tested the camera without the USB UVC adapter board directly on a Raspberry Pi without problems in exposure and framerate using raspivid.
Using the open source CameraController app, I can adjust the exposure and/or gain all the way up, to start seeing something. Frame rate is terrible then of course and the image is still less exposed than on the Raspberry Pi.

Basically my results are very similar to the ones posted in this thread, just with different camera hardware: HQ cam + 16 mm lens + Arducam UVC adaptor gives black picture - #10 by arducam-jyh

  1. What help do you need?
Any possible solutions, which can fix the exposure/gain/frame rate problems are appreciated! And if there is any way to update the firmware(s), I would love to get those as well!

Thank you!
