Usb camera turns blue and overexposed after taking a couple pictures in CV2

  1. Where did you get the camera module(s)?
    Amazon

  2. Model number of the product(s)?
    8MP IMX219 via usb

  3. What hardware/platform were you working on?
    Raspberry Pi

  4. Instructions you have followed. (link/manual/etc.)
    cv2.videocapture(0)

  5. Problems you were having?
The camera takes a few regular pictures, then the image turns cyan and the highlights are blown out. This doesn’t happen with cameras connected to the pie ribbon cable. Only the two usb cameras. In the past, the image has been too dark, and occasionally the image looks like a black image with white and other bright or lite colored lines. It’s on a tripod, and although sometimes auto might fluctuate, it shouldn’t fluctuate this much.

  6. The dmesg log from your hardware?

  7. Troubleshooting attempts you’ve made?
I have tried unplugging and replugging the camera, and sometimes it fixes the problem, but usually it quickly reverts to the problematic look

  8. What help do you need?
I would like help figuring out how to make it look normal whenever I take the picture.
