The Pi 5 is brand new, as is the B0444 camera. The install of Bookworm is fresh, and the only updates made were to install the respective Arducam files per the Quick Start Guide.

We uploaded the latest arducam libcamera. Please run the commands below to check it.
./install_pivariety_pkgs.sh -p -l
./install_pivariety_pkgs.sh -p libcamera_dev
./install_pivariety_pkgs.sh -p libcamera_apps
libcamera-still -t 0
This update did fix the issue for me. I’m getting the camera to work on both an Pi 4 and Pi 5 with this fix. Thank you for posting an update and getting this working.
This previous fix does not work for the latest Rpi5 Update -eeprom update
This and other fixes haven’t worked for me either, I’m just going to return my brand new hawkeye camera as defective since it seems like it stopped being supported in early 2023 or something. But they still advertise it as supported for the pi 5. It sounds like the OwlSight isn’t as janky though so maybe I’ll have better luck with that one

I’ve had a B0444 working for a while on a Rpi Zero 2 with bullseye and a known good cable (not a peer cable). Using dtoverlay=arducam-pivariety in config.txt. Just upgraded to Bookworm and can’t get camera going. Here is my error after running rpicam-hello

Looks like you need to follow the thread below to update the firmware of your camera module.

Ok. I’ll follow that. Do I also need to follow the troubleshooting guide I found that says to either disable the UART or adjust speed? I’m using Bluetooth for initially setting my WiFi which I think needs UART.
I was also confused with your installer. I noted there are several versions of the libcam modules that ends in _bookworm. Do I need those? Or follow the QuickStart guide that says to install libcam_dev and libcam_apps

OK, firmware update got me running. I hit a snag on the i2c location which is at 10 rather than the guide indication from the google drive file. But, go through that.

How do I resolve the error there? I assume its configure a tuning file?
also, I used the _bookwork versions of the libcam drivers. Do I need to go back to the non _bookworm drivers?

You can ignore this warning. The arducam-pivariety.json tuning file has been populated onto the camera board.
Ok, still have questions about the _bookworm versions of your installer. And whether I can continue to run uart.
I plan to install the opencv and tensor flow extensions on my pi to do some rudimentary detection so it may require a custom libcamera build. are you running a fork of libcamera or can I use the current distro?
@Dion need to claify a few things. I"m trying to design this camera into a commercial product and I feel like I’m having to reinvent the wheel everytime something chagnes. I had a SD card failure and had to reinstall Bookworm on my PiZero. I"m trying to embed this thing so am running Bookwork 64 bit OS Lite.
I followed your guide closely for B0444 but now I can’t get it running again.

Do I now need to reflash the camera or was that just a one time thing for my older camera. i’ve reflashed it within the last week or two and it worked on my previous Bookworm based pi.
