Issues with 16MP AF Sync Board and CSI-HDMI Adapters

  1. Where did you get the camera module(s)?
    Scorpion Vision

  2. Model number of the product(s)?
B0388 - AF Quad Camera Kit for Raspberry Pi
    B0091 - CSI - HDMI Cable Extension

  3. What hardware/platform were you working on?
    RPI 4 8GB, running Bullseye

  4. Instructions you have followed. (link/manual/etc.)
IMX519 Multi-Camera Kit Startup - Quick Start Guide for Arducam CamArray HAT Kit - Arducam Wiki

We are attempting to run four cameras connected via CSI-HDMI adapters to the AF Quad Camera board.

  1. Problems you were having
Image distortion, camera disconnect, timeout. We have tried various boards (changed, Pi, MultiCamera board, Cameras, and all cables - MIPI and HDMI).

  1. The dmesg log from your hardware?

  1. Troubleshooting attempts you’ve made?
We have tried new installs, changing hardware, but cannot get this setup working reliably without drop-outs, quality issues.

  2. What help do you need?
Advice on what to do to get this working. We are trying to build a fleet of camera systems using this setup and see that CSI-HDMI adapters, with these multiple-camera boards should be possible. This is a very urgent request for help.

Hi,
Are you using the four same HDMI cables?

Hi Dion - yes we are using the same HDMI cables for all. We have tried with different makes of HDMI cable too, but with the same behaviour.

@Dion Do you have any suggestions?

Hi @otills
For this case, 4 cameras + 4 HDMI extension kits, is a customized project at first. There was a difference in opinion on this case between me and our Technical Documentation Engineer. I strongly suggested deleting this solution from the DOC because it is not universal. Otherwise, other customers may face a difficult situation that they cannot resolve. (BTW, you are currently experiencing this situation.)
Here are our suggestions for your dilemma:
