IMX477 driver installer fails: Cannot find corresponding deb package on Jetson Nano, kernel 4.9.253-tegra

Hi everyone, I’m trying to get the IMX477 camera working on my Jetson Nano but the driver installation keeps failing. When I run the installer, I get this error:

Cannot find the corresponding deb package, please send the following:
Kernel version: 4.9.253-tegra-32.7.1-20220219090432
Jetson type: Nano

Also, the link in the instructions for versions prior to L4T32.4.3 doesn’t seem to work for me. Anyone seen this before?

That error usually means the installer script couldn’t match your kernel to a package. Before digging into that, could you share the exact commands you ran to install the driver? That would help a lot in narrowing down what’s going on.

Sure. Here’s what I did:

  1. On the Nano’s browser, I downloaded install_imx.sh from https://github.com/ArduCam/MIPI_Camera/releases/download/v0.0.2/install_imx.sh
  2. Changed the permissions of the shell script so it’s executable
  3. Ran the script from the download directory with ./install_imx477.sh

I think I see the issue. You downloaded install_imx.sh, but then you ran ./install_imx477.sh. Those are two different file names, so the script you actually downloaded never got executed.

Try running the correct file in the directory where it was downloaded:

./install_imx.sh

(not ./install_imx477.sh)

The full steps are also covered in the quick start guide here: Quick Start Guide - Arducam Wiki

To recap:

  1. Download install_imx.sh from the GitHub releases page
  2. Make it executable (chmod +x install_imx.sh)
  3. Run ./install_imx.sh from the download directory

That was it! I was running the wrong filename the whole time. After running ./install_imx.sh everything worked and the camera is functioning fine now. Thanks for the help!
