Hey all, I’m trying to get an IMX477 camera (model BO249) working on my Jetson Orin Nano, but I can’t even get past the driver installation script. Running it gives me this:
Cannot find the corresponding deb package, please send the following information to [email protected]
Here’s what I’m working with:
Kernel: 5.15.148-tegra-36.4.3-20250107174145
Jetson: NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano Engineering Reference Developer Kit Super
Quick update — I re-downloaded and re-ran the installation, and weirdly the deb package error is gone now. But when I run install_full.sh I’m getting these warnings:
ls: cannot access 'nv_imx477.ko.bak': No such file or directory
Setting up arducam-nvidia-l4t-kernel (5.15.148-tegra-36.4.3-20250205154643) ...
mv: cannot stat '/boot/arducam/arducam_csi2.ko': No such file or directory
Are these something I need to fix, or can I just ignore them and move on?
Those are totally benign — you can safely ignore them.
What’s happening is the install_full.sh script tries to back up any existing kernel module files before installing the new ones. The files it’s looking for (nv_imx477.ko.bak and arducam_csi2.ko) simply don’t exist yet because this is a clean first-time install — there’s nothing to back up. So the mv and ls commands complain, but it has zero impact on the actual driver installation.
No corrective action needed. Go ahead and proceed with testing the camera stream.
When the driver installs without errors but /dev/video* is empty and gstreamer can’t find any cameras, the next thing to rule out is the physical hardware connection.
Could you post a couple of photos of your setup? Specifically:
One shot from the camera end — showing how the ribbon cable is connected to the camera module
One shot from the Jetson end — showing how the ribbon cable is seated in the CSI connector on the board
This will help verify the cable orientation and whether it’s fully inserted on both sides.
