Hi everyone, I’m trying to set up an Arducam IMX477 camera (model B0167B12) on my Jetson Orin Nano running L4T with kernel 5.15.148. I ran the install_full.sh script from the Arducam GitHub repo, but it fails partway through — something about a missing DTBO file.
Here’s a screenshot of the error:
Is there a compatible .deb driver package available for kernel 5.15.148? Or if not, could someone walk me through manually configuring a device tree overlay for the IMX477 on this setup? Any help appreciated — not sure what the right path is here.
Looking at that error, the problem is pretty clear — the script is trying to locate a DTBO (device tree overlay) file that simply doesn’t exist for your combination of hardware and kernel version. Unfortunately, at this time there is no Arducam driver or device tree overlay available for kernel 5.15.148 on the Jetson Orin Nano specifically for the IMX477.
I’ve re-attached your error screenshot for reference as we work through this:
Before we go further down the custom DTBO rabbit hole, could you post some clear photos of your Jetson Orin Nano setup — both front and back of the board? I’d like to check the physical connection and also confirm exactly which carrier board revision you’re using, as that can affect what options are available.
Thanks for the photos — everything looks properly connected on the hardware side.
Here’s what I’d suggest: rather than fighting with the Arducam install_full.sh script (which, as we’ve confirmed, doesn’t have the right DTBO for kernel 5.15.148 on Orin Nano), let’s try a different approach. The native NVIDIA camera driver that ships with JetPack may already have support for the IMX477 sensor baked in. If so, you can enable it through the standard Jetson-IO configuration tool instead of using a third-party overlay.
This should bring up an interactive menu where you can configure the camera interface. Look for the IMX477 option under the CSI connector you’ve got the camera plugged into. Once selected, the tool will generate the appropriate device tree overlay and apply it.
After that, reboot and check if the camera shows up under /dev/video* or via v4l2-ctl --list-devices. Let me know how it goes — if the Jetson-IO approach doesn’t work we may need to look at building a custom DTBO from source, but I want to exhaust the built-in path first.
