8MP PTZ Camera Autofocus time

  1. My workplace provided them through amazon.
  2. B01678MP
  3. Raspberry Pi 4B
  4. This linked guide.
  5. The autofocus takes between 7 and 10 seconds for even minor changes in distance to the lens in the object the camera is focusing on.
  6. N/A
  7. Reimaged Pi, reinstalled openCV, checked power supply for any issues.
  8. I would like to reduce the time take for the autofocus to complete, and was wondering if this 7-10 second range was standard for this product using the autofocusexample.py program. If not I would like to determine why the focus time is taking so long as it isn’t usable for my current project with this reaction time.

Apologies if any information is lacking, this is my first post to this forum.

Unfortunately, this is the normal time for the autofocus example, there are two main reasons, one is that the PTZ lens is not moving very fast, and the other is the problem of software processing speed and algorithm.
