Unable to download GitHub library zip for Arduino ultimate starter kit

Hi everyone, I just picked up the Arduino ultimate starter kit and I’m stuck at the very first step. The instructions that came with the kit say I need to download a library from GitHub, but I can’t seem to download the zip file separately from GitHub at all. Is there a direct zip available somewhere, or does someone have instructions on how to actually grab it? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! Let’s figure this out. When you go to the GitHub repo, what exactly happens when you try to download it? Are you clicking the green ‘Code’ button and then ‘Download ZIP’, or trying to grab a specific file? Also, what browser and OS are you on, in case it’s a browser quirk? Any error message you see would help too.

Thanks for replying. I’m trying to get the full zip for the library, not individual files, but it won’t download properly from the GitHub page. I did find the file hosted somewhere else though — here’s the zip I’m referring to: uctronics_arduino_kits-master.zip. I just need that file or a reliable way to download the library.

Got it, thanks for the link. I actually attempted to attach that zip file directly to a reply for you, but it’s too large to send as an email attachment, so that route won’t work.

Ah okay, that explains part of it. So what’s the best way to actually get the file then? I’d rather not keep guessing at the GitHub download.

Since the file exceeds the email attachment limit, I’ve uploaded the library to Google Drive and sent you a shared download link through private message — please check your messages for it. To wrap up: the root issue was that the library zip is too large to email directly, and you couldn’t pull it separately from GitHub. The Google Drive shared link is the workaround. Try downloading from there and let me know if it works or if the Arduino IDE still complains about the library.
