Problems you were having?
When I try to use the Arducam GUI, it appears that the request to connect to the camera is sent out, but never recieves a response. It sends out " Command:55 FF AA, Send Success!" and then times out since it never recieves a response. -
Troubleshooting attempts you’ve made?
I have triple checked all the connections, even tried modifying the pins in code and IRL to see maybe if it was faulty pins.
Using a logic analyzer I’ve been able to confirm that my MCU is sending out SPI signals correctly when the camera is disconnected (ie. the MOSI, CLK, and CS lines look proper). But as soon as the camera is connected, oddly enough, I cant seem to get a reading - all the lines go to LOW. When I press reset on my MCU with the camera connected, it starts outputting spi signals again for a couple seconds before all the lines go back to 0V. Odd behavior.
I confirmed that the camera worked since I was able to run the Raspberry Pi Pico example with the gui. But now I cant get the esp32s2 working.
I’ve looked through the documentation to see if something has been missing, but the example might just be broken.

Can the example for ESP32S2 be modified/checked that it is indeed working with ESP-IDF? I found other people on the internet also struggling to get the example to work here (https://www.reddit.com/r/EngineeringStudents/comments/1dorr5h/arducam_mega_5_mp_spi_camera_trouble_with/).
I am running a newer ESP-IDF version (v 5.4.0) but looking at the differences in version I am unsure what would cause it to not work.
I am very excited to use this SPI camera for a project so I hope this can get resolved soon.
