Hi everyone, we’re having an issue with the minimum exposure time on the IMX477 when using the newer UC-733 Rev C1 board. At minimum exposure the image comes out completely dark. Our setup is 8x IMX477 cameras on UC-517 Rev.D cards, connected to a Jetson Xavier NX over USB, running a textile inspection line at about 20 m/min. Our older batch of UC-733 Rev C boards worked perfectly with the same conditions and parameters. I’ve compared Rev C and Rev C1 side by side under the same lighting, and the Rev C is fine while the Rev C1 goes dark at minimum exposure. Also tested in Windows with the same result. Do these Rev C1 boards need a firmware update, or is there another way to make them behave like the Rev C?
Thanks for the detailed report. Based on what you’re describing, this looks like a firmware-level difference on the UC-733 Rev C1. I’ve sent you the firmware files and a short guide video via private message. Please download them, follow the video steps to update the firmware on the C1 boards, and then re-test the minimum exposure setting.
I downloaded the firmware files and followed the video steps, but no luck. The Rev C1 still doesn’t match the Rev C at minimum exposure - the image stays completely dark. I also have a camera with product SKU B0280, and it shows the exact same problem.
Just adding a bit more detail: I got the B0280 unit specifically hoping it would work around the Rev C1 issue, but it has the same behavior. So both the UC-733 Rev C1 and the B0280 go dark at minimum exposure, while the original Rev C is fine under identical conditions. Is there another alternative we can try?
Thanks for confirming that the firmware update didn’t resolve it and for testing the B0280 as well. I’ve passed the details of both SKUs to our team, and they’re reviewing the exposure handling differences between the Rev C and Rev C1. I’ll post back here with further guidance as soon as we have an update.
