Hi there,
Unfortunately, what you are trying to do is not possible with the standard NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano developer kit, due to a platform-level hardware limitation.
Here is a more detailed explanation:
-
Driver System: Our ToF cameras connect to the Jetson platform using our “Jetvariety” driver system and adapter board.
-
Carrier Board Limitation: Due to the physical wiring and signal routing on the official NVIDIA Orin carrier board, it can only support a single camera using the Jetvariety driver system at one time. This is a design constraint of the carrier board itself.
-
Result: Consequently, even though the Orin Nano has two CSI connectors, only one ToF camera can be detected and operated by the system. The second camera will not be recognized.
This is a hardware constraint of the Jetson Orin developer kit’s carrier board and not an issue with the Arducam cameras or our software drivers.
We apologize that the current hardware setup does not support your dual-camera project needs.
Hi, thanks for your reply, to be clear, is it that the jetson could not recognise the tof camera from cam0 port at all (even under 1 tof cam connection only)? Or is it the board will only recognise either one from cam0 or cam1 when two ports are connected with arducam?
Also, do arducam have any multi cam kit board that support dual tof on a single port in Jetson Orin Nano?
Hi @TanYuJin
Thanks for the update.
Different carrier boards have different dedicated cam 1 ports. Cus I haven’t checked the photo of your Jetson Orin Nano, I can’t tell if it’s cam0 or cam1 that doesn’t work for you.
However, there’s a simple way to identify the working port—the one closest to the Power port on the Jetson Orin Nano.
A little heads up that your Jetson might detect another port; however, you can get nothing output from it.
Unfortunately, we don’t have it for now.
