Hi everyone, I’m seeing a weird sync problem with my Camarray setup on a Jetson Xavier NX. The top part of the video stream looks out of sync with the rest of the frame, like it’s lagging or tearing. I recorded a clip showing the issue: Faulty Arducam Footage.mp4. Has anyone run into this before?
Some more details about my setup:
- Arducam 12MP MINI IMX477 Synchronized Stereo Camera Bundle Kit for Jetson Nano and Xavier NX
- UC-512 Rev C
- Jetson Xavier NX on the NVIDIA Development Board
- JetPack 4.6.3
I already tried the Arducam driver install like this:
cd ~
wget https://github.com/ArduCAM/MIPI_Camera/releases/download/v0.0.3/install_full.sh
chmod +x install_full.sh
./install_full.sh -m imx477_stereo
I also tried manually configuring the pins with jetson-io. I ran:
sudo /opt/nvidia/jetson-io/jetson-io.py
then went through Configure Jetson Nano CSI Connector → Configure for compatible hardware → Camera IMX477 Dual, saved the pin changes, and rebooted.
After that I launched the camera with:
FRAMERATE=24
gst-launch-1.0 nvarguscamerasrc sensor-id=0 ! "video/x-raw(memory:NVMM),width=1920,height=1080,framerate=$FRAMERATE/1" ! nvvidconv ! xvimagesink
Still getting the same out-of-sync band at the top of the frame.
Thanks for the detailed info. I think the manual jetson-io pin configuration is what’s causing this. Those Camera IMX477 Dual steps via sudo /opt/nvidia/jetson-io/jetson-io.py are no longer required for this setup, and they can leave the board in an incorrect configuration.
Please do NOT run the jetson-io.py steps anymore (Configure Jetson Nano CSI Connector → Configure for compatible hardware → Camera IMX477 Dual → save pin changes → reboot).
Instead, just re-run the install script with the imx477_stereo module:
cd ~
wget https://github.com/ArduCAM/MIPI_Camera/releases/download/v0.0.3/install_full.sh
chmod +x install_full.sh
./install_full.sh -m imx477_stereo
Then test it with the preview command:
FRAMERATE=24
gst-launch-1.0 nvarguscamerasrc sensor-id=0 ! "video/x-raw(memory:NVMM),width=1920,height=1080,framerate=$FRAMERATE/1" ! nvvidconv ! xvimagesink
Let me know if the stream looks normal after that.
I tried that and it works perfectly. Re-ran ./install_full.sh -m imx477_stereo without touching the jetson-io pin config, then used the preview command, and the top part of the stream is in sync now. Thanks!
Great to hear. To summarize for anyone else hitting this: the install_full.sh script with the imx477_stereo module performs the required configuration on its own. The manual jetson-io.py pin configuration steps are no longer needed and should not be used, since they can cause the out-of-sync video issue you saw.
