Hey everyone, I’m having a weird issue with my Sony STARVIS 2 IMX585 camera. It was working fine before — I could use all the higher resolutions and Night mode was available in the settings. But now it’s capped at 1280x720 and the Night mode option is completely gone from the settings menu. I’ve got it connected via USB 3.0 SS (the blue port), and I’ve tested it on two completely different PCs — same behavior on both. Tried different USB ports too, no change. The camera is detected by the system, just seems like something is limiting what it can do. Anyone seen this before?
Thanks for the detailed report. Based on what you’re describing, this looks like a regression — the camera was functioning correctly before with full resolution support and Night mode available, and those features have now disappeared without any obvious trigger like a driver update or OS change on your end. The fact that the exact same limitation appears on two separate PCs is a strong indicator that the issue is on the camera side, not the host system. If it were a driver or USB controller problem, you’d expect at least some difference between the two machines. Root cause is still unclear at this stage — could be a firmware state issue, a sensor initialization failure, or something in the camera’s onboard configuration that got stuck. I’ve sent you a private message with remote diagnostic session details so we can take a closer look at what the camera is actually reporting.
Thanks, I saw the PM. I’ll join the session and we can dig into it. Just to add — I haven’t flashed any firmware or changed anything on the camera itself. It literally worked one day and then didn’t the next. No idea what could have triggered it.
