Hi everyone. I’ve got an Arducam IMX477 PTZ camera connected to a Jetson board and I’m running the PTZ camera code. For some reason focus commands work, but zoom does nothing at all. Wiring looks fine. Is there something on the control board I need to change before zoom will respond?
Thanks for the details. I reviewed the latest firmware and the control board actually defaults to fixed mode. In fixed mode the board won’t accept Pan/Tilt/Focus/Zoom changes, which would explain why zoom isn’t responding. You need to switch it into Adjust mode first. Try running this over I2C:
i2ctransfer -f -y 1 w1@0x0c 0x30 w2 0x00 0x01
That enables Adjust mode. After that, run your PTZ camera code again and let us know if the control board responds.
Okay, I ran that i2ctransfer command. Focus is still fine, but zoom is still completely unresponsive. I recorded a couple of short videos so you can see the behavior:
Let me know if there’s anything else I should check.
Thanks for the videos, those were really helpful. We dug deeper and found the root cause: the older code and documentation didn’t fully support running the PTZ camera correctly. We’ve now updated the code on GitHub and rewritten the quick start in the Arducam Wiki.
Please pull the latest code from GitHub and follow the new guide:

Run the PTZ camera code from the updated repo using the new instructions and zoom should start responding.
