Hi everyone, hoping someone can help me figure this out. I was updating the firmware on my Arducam Time-of-Flight camera following the docs here: Getting Started: Arducam ToF Camera for Raspberry Pi - Arducam Wiki. I had both the ToF camera and a Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3 connected to my Raspberry Pi 5 at the same time during the update. After the firmware update finished, the Pi Camera Module 3 is no longer detected at all. I even tried it on a Raspberry Pi 4 and it still isn’t detected. I’m starting to worry the firmware got written to the Pi Camera Module 3 instead of the ToF camera. Has anyone run into this before?

We’re looking into the possibility that the firmware update targeted the Pi Camera Module 3 instead of the ToF camera. I’ll follow up by the end of the week.
Quick update on my end: my Pi OS actually got messed up too during all of this. I ended up flashing a fresh OS image, and now the Pi Camera Module 3 is detected and working again. So maybe it wasn’t the firmware being written to the wrong camera after all? I haven’t retried the combined ToF camera + Pi Camera Module 3 configuration yet, so I’m not 100% sure how it will behave.
That’s good news, and it actually points us in a clearer direction. Based on what you’re describing, the most likely root cause is OS-level corruption on the Raspberry Pi during the update, rather than the firmware being flashed to the wrong camera. Reflashing a fresh Raspberry Pi OS image restored the Pi Camera Module 3 detection and function, which is consistent with that. When you get a chance, retry the combined Pi Camera + ToF configuration and let us know how it goes.
