Hi everyone, I’m trying to get my ArduCam camera working on my Nvidia Jetson and I’m stuck on a package error during installation. The installer complains about the package and won’t continue. I think I need the matching .deb file for my kernel version. I’ve attached a screenshot of the error. Has anyone run into this?
Could you share the exact error text and your kernel version? You can get it with uname -r. Also, which ArduCam model are you using and which installation guide have you been following so far?
Here’s the screenshot of the error:
My kernel version is 5.10.120-tegra. I was following a guide that had me install a .deb package, but it keeps failing and saying the package doesn’t match this kernel.
Thanks, looking at your screenshot it seems like you’re following the wrong installation instruction. That .deb-based flow is not the correct one for the ArduCam Nvidia Jetson Native Camera driver, which is why you’re seeing the package error and hunting for a matching .deb. The right approach for this camera on Jetson is the native camera driver installation guide.
Ah, I see. I must have been following an outdated or wrong doc then. Which guide should I actually be using to install the driver?
The root cause is that you were referred to the wrong installation instruction for the ArduCam driver. Please follow the steps in the correct ArduCam Nvidia Jetson Native Camera driver installation guide instead:
https://docs.arducam.com/Nvidia-Jetson-Camera/Native-Camera/Quick-Start-Guide/#install-driver
To sum up where we’ve landed: the official driver installation steps for the ArduCam Nvidia Jetson Native Camera are in the Quick Start Guide under the “Install Driver” section. Follow that section and you shouldn’t need a separate .deb matched to your kernel version.
