NVIDIA Jetson Nano: Install_dependencies_jetson.sh cannot find corresponding deb package

Hi everyone, I’m trying to get an Arducam camera working on my Jetson Nano and the dependency installer keeps failing on me. I’m running ./Install_dependencies_jetson.sh and it just bails out saying it can’t find a matching deb package.

My setup:

  • Jetson: NVIDIA Jetson Nano Developer Kit
  • Kernel: 4.9.337-tegra-32.7.6-20241104234540

Here’s the exact output I get:
Error: Cannot find the corresponding deb package, please send the following information to [email protected]

Has anyone run into this? Not really sure what I’m doing wrong.

Thanks for posting the details. Looking at your kernel version, you’re on L4T 32.7.6. The camera driver for that release hasn’t been published yet, so the installer literally can’t find a matching deb package. That’s exactly why it errors out like that.

The root cause is that JetPack/L4T 32.7.6 isn’t on the supported list for the Arducam camera driver yet. The installer checks the version and, when it doesn’t find a match, it gives you that message.

For now, the workaround is to flash your Jetson Nano to one of the JetPack versions that are on the supported list. You can check which versions are currently supported here:
https://docs.arducam.com/Nvidia-Jetson-Camera/Introduction-to-Arducam-Jetson-Cameras/

Ah, that makes sense. I eventually figured out the install failure was tied to my kernel version, so it’s good to have that confirmed. Is there any chance you could just build a .deb package for 32.7.6? Reflashing to a whole different JetPack version would be a pain for my current setup.

I hear you, but unfortunately there’s no plan to get a 32.7.6 driver out before the Chinese Spring Festival. It’s not off the table entirely, but it definitely won’t be before then. So your options right now are either running a supported JetPack version, or waiting until after the holiday to see if compatibility gets added.

Understood. Do you have any idea when the package updates might actually land? I’m trying to plan around this for a project.

Good news is that 32.7.6 support is already on the roadmap — it’s currently planned for release next month. I don’t have an exact date to give you yet, but I’d keep an eye on the supported list here:
https://docs.arducam.com/Nvidia-Jetson-Camera/Introduction-to-Arducam-Jetson-Cameras/#2run-the-camera

That’s the page where the new version will show up once the package is available.

Thanks, that’s good to hear. Any sense of how soon next month? I have a deadline coming up and I’m trying to decide whether to flash back to an older JetPack or just wait for the 32.7.6 build.

At this point I don’t have a specific date, just that it’s scheduled for next month. Until the 32.7.6 driver actually ships, the only real workaround is to run one of the JetPack versions from the supported list. Once the driver drops, you’ll be able to stay on 32.7.6 without changing anything. I’d recommend watching that docs page — the supported list gets updated as soon as the package goes live.
