Noir Camera Blue Film Required?

I ordered a “Arducam IMX219 Auto Focus IR Sensitive (NoIR) Camera Module”, but it looks like I received a regular RGB camera. I took off the blue film that covered the camera. Is that required to pick up IR? Should the photos taken with that camera look like RGB without the filter?
