Hi everyone, I’m stuck and could really use some help. I’ve got an Arducam B0207 Camera V2.1 connected to a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B. I followed the Quick Start guide on the Arducam wiki (Quick Start Guide - Arducam Wiki), but at the end of setup I just get “no cameras available”. At some point I installed the imx519 camera kernel driver, though I’m not even sure that was the right one for this board. The camera is definitely plugged in. My end goal is to get it working and eventually run a livestream. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?
Welcome to the forum! The B0207 uses a Sony IMX219 8-megapixel sensor, so the imx519 driver was the wrong one to install — that’s for a different sensor. Because the imx519 driver got loaded, the Pi can’t detect your camera at all. The IMX219 is natively supported on Raspberry Pi OS, so you shouldn’t need an extra camera driver for it. Can you open /boot/config.txt and tell me which dtoverlay lines are in there?
Just checked and I do have a line that says dtoverlay=imx519. What should I change it to?
Change it so imx519 is commented out and imx219 is added at the bottom of the file, like this:
#dtoverlay=imx519
dtoverlay=imx219
Then reboot the Pi. Once it’s back up, retry your libcamera command. Since IMX219 is natively supported, no extra driver is needed. The Raspberry Pi docs cover this config too: https://www.raspberrypi.com/documentation/computers/camera_software.html#if-you-do-need-to-alter-the-configuration
No luck, I’m afraid. I commented out imx519, added dtoverlay=imx219 at the bottom, rebooted, and libcamera still returns “no cameras available”. I even tried an Arducam 16MP Autofocus B0371C because that one is supposed to use the default driver, but it won’t open either. Both cameras give me the same result and I’m starting to lose my mind.
That’s odd. If the B0371C also fails with its default driver, this is probably not a driver problem anymore. Could you paste the current contents of /boot/config.txt and the output of libcamera-hello --list-cameras? Also double-check that the ribbon cable is fully seated and the contacts are facing the correct direction.
I’m honestly getting a bit lost with all the back and forth. Could you just give me the exact steps from the very beginning? I’ll wipe my changes and redo everything from scratch.
Since we’ve already applied the IMX219 overlay fix and tried two different cameras (including one that should work with the default driver) and it’s still showing “no cameras available”, I think it’s best to look at your Pi directly instead of guessing further. I’ve sent you the remote access details and setup link via private message — please check your messages. We’re on UTC+8, so let me know a time that works for you. Once we’re connected, we can check the config, cable seating, and camera detection live and figure out exactly where it’s failing.
