Hi, I’m still stuck on the IMX519 PDAF issue I posted about a while back. The autofocus on my Arducam IMX519 never actually engages - the lens just sits in one spot and I can’t get phase detection autofocus to do anything. I linked the original thread in my last post but I’m not sure if anyone has picked it up. Has there been any update on the PDAF release?
Hi, this is Dion from the Arducam support team. Sorry for the delay on this. Could you confirm which board you’re running and what software stack you’re using? Also, have you checked the latest replies in your original thread? There’s a recent update there specifically around the PDAF release that might cover what you’re seeing.
Sure - I’m on a Raspberry Pi 4 with the Arducam IMX519 autofocus module, running a recent libcamera build. I’ve already tried recompiling and reinstalling the camera driver a couple of times, but PDAF mode still doesn’t engage and the lens doesn’t respond to focus commands the way I’d expect. I did check the thread earlier, but I might have missed the newer replies.
Thanks, that helps. The reply you need is in your original thread - specifically this one: IMX519 PDAF Release - #64 by Phil. That post addresses the PDAF release status and walks through what’s needed on the driver side. Please give it a read and try what’s described there, then let us know if anything is still unclear.
Ah, thanks - I hadn’t spotted that reply. I’ll go through it and try what’s suggested. Appreciate the pointer.
