Hi, I bought a Pivariety low light camera module and I’m trying to get it running. Where can I find the driver for this module? I couldn’t find a specific download that clearly matches it, so I’m a bit unsure what I’m supposed to install.
Hi, thanks for reaching out. For the Pivariety low light camera module, the setup and driver information is covered in the Pivariety module documentation here:
https://www.arducam.com/docs/cameras-for-raspberry-pi/pivariety/
That page walks through the driver installation and configuration for the Pivariety family. Take a look and let me know which step you get stuck on.
Thanks. I looked at the Pivariety section but there are a lot of models listed and I’m not sure which one applies to the low light version specifically. Do I follow the same install steps, or is there something different for the low light module? I don’t want to install the wrong driver and mess up my setup.
Good question. The Pivariety modules share the same driver/install path, so you can follow the installation instructions on that page rather than looking for a separate low light-only package. The low light variant uses the same Pivariety driver stack.
If you tell me your Raspberry Pi model and OS version, I can point you to the exact section to follow. Could you also confirm what you see at the moment — does the camera show up at all, or is it not detected?
I’m on a Raspberry Pi (using the standard Raspberry Pi OS). Right now the camera isn’t showing up when I try to use it, which is why I assumed I was missing a driver. I’ll go through the Pivariety docs page you linked and follow the install steps, then report back if I hit anything unclear.
Sounds good — the Pivariety documentation at Redirecting... is the right reference to work from. Follow the driver installation steps there in order, and if any part is unclear or you get an error, post back here with what you tried and the exact message you see and we’ll walk through it together.
