Need datasheet and connection diagram for Arducam IMX290 motorized IR-CUT camera for Raspberry Pi

Hey everyone, I just got the Arducam 2MP Ultra Low Light STARVIS IMX290 Motorized IR-CUT Camera for Raspberry Pi. I’m trying to integrate it into a project where I need to use an LDR IR sensor alongside it, controlled through the Pi’s GPIO pins. Before I start wiring things up, I could really use the module datasheet and a proper connection diagram. Anyone know where I can find those? The product page is a bit light on the details I need.

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The product you have is designated as B0424 on our end. Here are two references that should help get you started:

Check those out and let me know if you hit any snags.

Thanks for the links, but I’ve gone through both and they’re honestly not enough for what I’m trying to do. My project needs several additional connections directly from the IMX290 module itself — I’m talking power, ground, IR sensor output, and a few other custom signal lines I need to tap into. The quick start guide mostly just shows the basic ribbon cable hookup to the adapter board.

What I actually need is:

  1. The IMX290 module connection diagram (pinout of the module itself, not just the adapter board)
  2. The full user manual
  3. The schematic diagram

Without those, I can’t really plan the GPIO integration for the LDR sensor properly. Anyone have the deeper docs for this module?

I completely understand — for a project involving custom GPIO integration and tapping directly into the module’s signal lines, the publicly available material on the site won’t cover everything you need. Those kinds of low-level documents (full schematics, module-level pinouts, internal user manual) aren’t posted publicly and typically require a review by our engineering team before release.

I’ve sent you an evaluation form via private message. Please fill it out as thoroughly as you can — it asks about your project scope, which signals you need access to, how you’re planning to interface the LDR sensor, and so on. This gives our engineers the full picture so they can assess what documentation is appropriate to share.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • The evaluation process usually takes several days once submitted, since the engineering team reviews these in detail.
  • If your timeline is tight, mark the subject line of your reply with “URGENT” and we’ll do our best to bump it up in the queue.

Hang tight — once engineering reviews your form, they’ll be able to get you the right docs for your use case.
