Hi all, I’m trying to set up autofocus on my 5MP OV5647 motorized focus camera (B0176) by following the Arducam quick start guide. I got stuck at the Libcamera installation step because the script download keeps failing. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Sorry you’re running into that. Can you paste the exact command you’re running and the full error message? The guide has changed a bit over time, so I want to see which version of the steps you’re following.
Sure. The command from the guide is:

And I get this back:

Thanks, that’s the issue. That install script URL is no longer valid — it’s been removed from the Arducam-Pivariety-V4L2-Driver releases. Looking at that repo, it seems the OV5647 is no longer supported by that particular driver set. We’ve moved the OV5647 setup to the updated instructions here:
Use the updated install script command from that page and try again.

One more thing though. The doc references an AF tuning file, ov5647_af.json, for the autofocus. I don’t see it anywhere on the Pi. Is there a separate location to download the AF tuning file?
After a successful Arducam libcamera install, ov5647_af.json should already be on your system under /usr/share/libcamera/ipa/rpi/vc4/. Can you check that directory and tell me exactly what’s in there?
I checked and it’s not there. /usr/share/libcamera/ipa/rpi/vc4/ only contains ov5647.json and ov5647_noir.json — there’s no ov5647_af.json at all. I tried the documented command:
libcamera-still -t 0 --tuning-file /usr/share/libcamera/ipa/rpi/vc4/ov5647_af.json
and it fails because the file is missing.
Okay, that explains it. The AF tuning file ov5647_af.json should have been placed in /usr/share/libcamera/ipa/rpi/vc4/ when the Arducam libcamera package was installed, but your install only placed ov5647.json and ov5647_noir.json there.
To summarize where things stand: the original install script issue is resolved and libcamera installed fine from the updated guide. But the AF tuning file ov5647_af.json is still missing from /usr/share/libcamera/ipa/rpi/vc4/, so the documented autofocus command with --tuning-file /usr/share/libcamera/ipa/rpi/vc4/ov5647_af.json won’t work until that file is present. Please double-check that directory one more time to confirm the file isn’t there. In the meantime, hold off on that command until the file is located or installed.
