Hi everyone, hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I’m running an Arducam B0267 camera on a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B using libcamera (IPA module rpi/vc4). I’ve got four cameras detected and running, but I keep seeing this error in the logs:
[0:00:42.538655769] [1725] ERROR IPAProxy ipa_proxy.cpp:154 Configuration file ‘arducam-pivariety_mono.json’ not found for IPA module ‘rpi/vc4’
Also, when I try to save video, it fails. I’m not sure if the two issues are related. Any ideas?
Thanks for posting. That error is libcamera complaining that it can’t find the IPA config file for your camera. Could you let us know which setup guide you followed, and what files are currently in /usr/share/libcamera/ipa/rpi/vc4/? That will help narrow it down.
I checked /usr/share/libcamera/ipa/rpi/vc4/ and the arducam-pivariety_mono.json file is definitely missing. The only file in that directory is arducam_64mp.json, which looks like it’s for a different camera model. Does anyone know where I can download the correct arducam-pivariety_mono.json for the B0267?
Thanks for the details. Based on what you’ve found, the root cause of that specific error is that arducam-pivariety_mono.json isn’t present in /usr/share/libcamera/ipa/rpi/vc4/, so libcamera can’t load the expected IPA configuration for the B0267 when using the rpi/vc4 module. The arducam_64mp.json file you’re seeing is indeed for a different camera model and wouldn’t be used here.
So is this missing file what’s breaking video saving? Should I try to track down and copy the json file in, or is there something else I should check first?
Good question. Looking into it, this particular ‘arducam-pivariety_mono.json not found’ error log is harmless for normal usage and can be safely ignored — it won’t stop the cameras from working. The four cameras being detected and running is expected even with that log showing up, so I wouldn’t chase down that file just to clear the error. As for the video saving failure, that looks like a separate issue and would need its own troubleshooting, since the missing IPA config isn’t the thing blocking it.
Got it, thanks. So just to confirm — I can leave the directory as-is and ignore that error, and I should treat the save failure as a different problem?
That’s correct. To summarize: the arducam-pivariety_mono.json error is cosmetic here and doesn’t affect normal camera usage, so there’s no need to install or replace that file just to clear it. The video saving failure will need to be looked at separately. If you can capture the exact error or output when saving video fails, we can dig into that next.
