Hi everyone. I’m trying to set up a UC-517 Rev01 camera on my Jetson but I can’t find the corresponding deb package for the driver. Does Arducam have a UC-517 Rev01 driver for the NVIDIA Jetson Nano 2GB Developer Kit? I’ve looked through the repos and nothing seems to match.
Thanks for reaching out. Can you share a bit more about your setup? Specifically the kernel version and confirm the exact Jetson model. That will help narrow down why the matching package isn’t showing up for you.
Sure, here’s what I have:
Kernel version: 4.9.337-tegra-32.7.4-20230608212426
Jetson type: NVIDIA Jetson Nano 2GB Developer Kit
I don’t have any particular logs or code to share at the moment - I’m stuck at the very first step of just locating the right package.
That kernel string is the key. Looking at 4.9.337-tegra-32.7.4-20230608212426, the JetPack version your device is running doesn’t have a corresponding deb package in the Arducam supported list. That’s why you’re not finding a matching UC-517 Rev01 driver.
Ah, so there’s simply no package for the version I’m on? What are my options then?
Right, there isn’t one for that specific kernel/JetPack combination. The fix is to burn/flash the JetPack on your Jetson Nano 2GB to a version that is on the Arducam supported list. Once you’re on a supported version, the matching deb package for the UC-517 Rev01 will be available.
That makes sense. Is there a reference I can follow to figure out which JetPack version I should be flashing to?
Yes, please refer to the Arducam Jetson Camera documentation here: Introduction to Arducam Jetson Cameras - Arducam Wiki . It lists the supported JetPack versions and walks through the camera setup. Flash your board to one of the versions on that list.
Got it. So essentially the driver package availability comes down to whether my JetPack version matches what’s on that supported list?
Exactly. The Arducam Jetson camera driver deb package availability depends on matching a JetPack version from the supported list documented at that link. Since your current kernel (4.9.337-tegra-32.7.4-20230608212426) isn’t on the list, there’s no corresponding package for it. Flash to a supported JetPack version and you should be able to find and install the correct UC-517 Rev01 driver package.
