Looking for SDK/drivers to control autofocus on camera in C/C++ IoT application

Hi, I’m working on an IoT project using an Arducam camera, model B029201. I need to use the full camera functionality, especially autofocus, but I want to control when autofocus happens rather than having it run automatically. Can anyone point me to the SDK, drivers, or libraries for this camera?

Thanks for the details. Can you share a bit more about the environment you’re developing in and which language you’re using? That will help narrow down the right integration path.

Sure, it’s an IoT application and I’m coding in C/C++. I don’t have any code or logs yet because I’m still trying to locate the correct SDK/drivers/libraries before I start putting things together.

Got it. Just to set expectations: the B029201 is a UVC (USB Video Class) camera, so it doesn’t need a custom Arducam driver. It uses the OS’s built-in UVC support. Because of that, Arducam doesn’t provide a separate SDK/driver/library package for this model.

So there’s no SDK at all? I specifically need manual control over autofocus from a C/C++ app, so I’m trying to figure out what the supported approach is.

Correct, no vendor SDK/driver/library is required or supplied for this UVC camera. What Arducam provides is a reference demo. For manual focus/autofocus control, the documented path is OpenCV. The demo shows how to achieve manual focus of an autofocus camera using OpenCV. You can follow the reference here: Access UVC Cameras using OpenCV, Python, and GStreamer on Linux - Arducam Wiki

Thanks, that helps. So essentially the camera is meant to be used through standard UVC support and that OpenCV demo rather than through a custom SDK?

Yes, exactly. Since it’s a UVC device, the intended integration path is the OS’s standard UVC support plus the OpenCV demo code for autofocus/manual focus control. There’s no separate SDK to install for this model.
