Hi everyone, I’m trying to set up a 15MB Arducam camera with a Pi Zero and I’m looking for a list of security software that actually supports it. So far the only thing I’ve been able to find is the OctoPrint link (Using libcamera & imx519 on OctoPi - #8 by wong). Does anyone know of other software that works with this camera, or is there a compatibility list somewhere? I can’t seem to find anything else.
Welcome! For the IMX519 autofocus camera, the Arducam docs are the best place to start. There’s a software guide section in the Quick Start Guide, and OctoPrint has its own page as well. Take a look at these:
- https://docs.arducam.com/Raspberry-Pi-Camera/Native-camera/OctoPrint/
The Quick Start Guide software section is a good reference for what’s supported, and the OctoPrint page covers that setup specifically.
Thanks for the links. I started going through the Quick Start Guide and followed the ‘Raspberry Pi Bullseye OS 6.1.21 and Later’ section. I’m on a Pi Zero 2W running Bullseye. The first command seemed to run fine, but the second one failed. Here’s what I ran:
wget -O install_pivariety_pkgs.sh https://github.com/ArduCAM/Arducam-Pivariety-V4L2-Driver/releases/download/install_script/install_pivariety_pkgs.sh
chmod +x install_pivariety_pkgs.sh
The error I got was:
-bash: chmod +x install_pivariety_pkgs.sh: command not found
I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong since wget appeared to work.
That error usually means bash isn’t recognizing ‘chmod +x install_pivariety_pkgs.sh’ as a proper command, which often happens when an extra space or something odd gets in there while retyping it. Copy both lines directly from the Arducam doc page and paste them into the terminal instead of typing them by hand:
wget -O install_pivariety_pkgs.sh https://github.com/ArduCAM/Arducam-Pivariety-V4L2-Driver/releases/download/install_script/install_pivariety_pkgs.sh
chmod +x install_pivariety_pkgs.sh
Just to sum up: copy the commands straight from the doc page, watch out for any extra spaces, and the chmod line should run cleanly after the wget completes.
