Problems you were having:

I recently purcahsed an Arducam IMX585 B0498 camera module from Amazon, which I intend to use exclusively in low light conditions, as a “night vision” camera.

Out the box the camera had very poor low light performance, but after reviewing the documentation, I was able to download and install the recommended PotPlayer application, where I was able to acces and modify some of the camera settings, but many of the options are grayed out, and cannot be changed.
Changing the ‘Backlight Compensation’ from the default value of 1 to 0 improved the low light perfomance quite a bit, however it is still subpar. I believe that there are additional settings that need to be modified in order to further improve the low light performance, however I am not sure what they are or how to access them, and I looking for some guidance.

What help do you need:

Looking for guidance on how to access and modify the camera module settings to optimize low light performance

Any help here? I tried emailing [email protected] but I haven’t received a response there either.

What kind of software do I need in order to gain access to the camera module settings? Or is there possibly an updated firmware version that I could try installing? I’ve been dying to try this IMX585 sensor which is supposed to have amazing low light performance…
