    Is it possible to un-thread the lens a bit to bring the focus closer to the module? I am trying to reach a focus distance of no more than 3cm.

Hi,
You’d better not unthread the lens. This camera uses a stock lens that can not move the lens.

Thanks Dion. Are you saying the lense is not threaded? From the module pictures I have seen there are some very fine threads on the lense.

I’m sure it’s probably glued in place from the factory but so we’re my webcams I used for testing and I was able to remove the glue no issue.

What would be the risk?

The risk is that if you remove the lens, there is no warranty.
