Hi everyone, I’m trying to get the IMX477 camera driver installed on my Jetson Xavier NX Developer Kit and the install script keeps failing. It stops partway through and just prints an error about not being able to find a package. Has anyone else run into this? Not sure if I’m doing something wrong or if it’s a compatibility issue.
Thanks for posting. Could you share a few details about your setup? Specifically the kernel version you’re running and the exact Jetson model. If you can also paste the full output from the installer, that would help narrow things down.
Sure. Kernel version is 5.10.104-tegra-35.3.1-20230319081403 and the board is an NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX Developer Kit. Here’s what the install prints before it exits: “Cannot find the corresponding deb package, please send the following information to [email protected]”. That’s basically all it gives me.
That’s very helpful, thank you. I checked this against our release matrix and the IMX477 camera driver for L4T version 35.3.1 has not been released yet. That’s why the installer can’t locate a matching deb package - there simply isn’t one published for that L4T revision at the moment.
Ah, got it. So is there anything I can use right now, or do I just have to wait? I’d rather not leave the camera sitting unused if there’s a workaround.
Right now there’s no package for 35.3.1 specifically. The IMX477 driver for L4T 35.3.1 is scheduled to be released in about two months. In the meantime, the workaround is to flash your JetPack to one of the supported versions listed on the Arducam Jetson camera docs page - the IMX477 driver is available for those. Driver availability is tied to the L4T/JetPack version, so once you’re on a supported release the installer will find the right deb package.
That makes sense. So the kernel I’m on (5.10.104-tegra-35.3.1) just isn’t in the supported list yet. I’ll check the docs page and pick a supported JetPack version to flash. Thanks for confirming it’s not something I broke on my end.
Correct - nothing wrong on your side. It’s just that the IMX477 driver hasn’t been published for L4T 35.3.1 yet. The supported versions are listed at Introduction to Arducam Jetson Cameras - Arducam Wiki. Flash to one of those and the installer should find the matching deb package. If you’d rather wait, the 35.3.1 driver is planned for release in about two months.
