Hi everyone, I’m trying to install the IMX477 camera driver on my new Jetson Orin Nano, but the install script keeps failing with “Cannot find the corresponding deb package”. I took a look at the .sh script and it picks the deb based on the Jetson board type, and I only see “Orin NX” listed in there. Anyone run into this on the Orin Nano?
Thanks for the details so far. Could you post your kernel version and confirm the exact board/kit model? That will help confirm which board type the installer is detecting. You can grab the kernel version with uname -r.
Sure, here it is: kernel 5.10.104-tegra-35.3.1-20230319081403, running on the NVIDIA Orin Nano Developer Kit. Also, two questions while we’re at it — will the Orin Nano be supported soon? And would the Orin NX package work on the Orin Nano in the meantime?
Looking at your setup, the Arducam IMX477 driver installation package for the Jetson Orin NX is not compatible with the Orin Nano. The installer script and the deb package both depend on the Jetson board type, and right now only the Orin NX variant is available. On the Orin Nano, the installer can’t find a matching deb, so it fails with “Cannot find the corresponding deb package”.
The root cause is that the driver/deb package is board-specific. There’s only an Orin NX build at the moment, and no Orin Nano deb package has been released yet, so there’s nothing for the installer to match against on your board. Please don’t try to use the Orin NX package on the Orin Nano — it won’t work. Arducam is planning to release the camera driver for the Jetson Orin Nano in about a month, so the recommendation is to wait for that dedicated Orin Nano release.
Got it, thanks for confirming. So the Orin NX package won’t work on the Orin Nano, and a dedicated Orin Nano driver release is coming in about a month. I’ll hold off and wait for that instead of forcing the NX install.
To summarize: the IMX477 driver install package is board-specific, and since only the Orin NX variant exists, the installer throws “Cannot find the corresponding deb package” on the Orin Nano. There’s no Orin Nano deb available right now. A dedicated Jetson Orin Nano driver release is expected in about a month — best to wait for that rather than trying the NX package.
