Hey all, I’m trying to get the Arducam IMX477 driver installed on a Jetson board running L4T 32.5.1 and the dpkg install keeps failing during unpacking. The package I’m using is arducam-nvidia-l4t-kernel_4.9.201-tegra-32.5.1-20210302195021_arm64_imx477.deb. I run sudo dpkg -i with that package and it exits with an error. Anyone seen this before?
Can you paste the full dpkg output? Also, what kernel version are you on and do you have any other camera/ISP driver packages installed? The exact overwrite error will tell us a lot.
Kernel is 4.9.201-tegra-32.5.1 (L4T). I do have theimagingsource-drivers 2.2.11-1 installed from an earlier setup. Here is the exact output:

Thanks, that’s enough to see what’s going on. There are two separate issues in that log. First, dpkg is refusing to overwrite /var/nvidia/nvcam/settings/camera_overrides.isp because that file is already owned by theimagingsource-drivers 2.2.11-1. Second, the installer script is looking for extlinux.conf_bak and Image.bak and both are missing, so those ls errors are coming from the package’s post-install steps. Before I suggest any next step, can you post a couple photos of the board front and back? I want to confirm the exact hardware/revision so we don’t remove the wrong camera driver for your carrier board.
Sure, I’ll grab the photos. In the meantime, is there something I can check on the conflicting file or those missing backups? I don’t remember deleting anything, but the previous driver install might have cleaned them up.
Good things to check while we wait. Run dpkg -S /var/nvidia/nvcam/settings/camera_overrides.isp to confirm ownership, and see whether the Arducam .deb also ships that same path. For the backups, check /boot/extlinux.conf and /boot/Image and whether any .bak copies exist. The immediate blocker is the ownership conflict with theimagingsource-drivers 2.2.11-1 — dpkg won’t let the Arducam kernel package finish installing until that’s resolved. The missing extlinux.conf_bak and Image.bak files are a second issue that will likely show up right after. Let’s wait for the hardware photos before changing anything; removing the wrong package could break your current camera setup.
