Imx462 low light video settings

I want to achieve similar low-light video like in this youtube video from arducam https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QFUMuyiNBE

What in the world I need to do? I can increase shutter and gain, but the video is no near to the video shown in youtube…

Try lowering your frame rate down to something like 2 fps. I’m using mine with motionplus and I’ve found that the frame rate setting will override the exposure settings. If I set an exposure of .5 seconds but if my frame rate is something like 10 fps, the best the camera will do is an exposure of less than .1 seconds. But the downside is movement is blurry. I think that is just something I have to accept but if you find different, please let us know.

Here’s the live stream with the imx462

These are the current settings

--awbgains 1.7,2.1 \
    --brightness 0.08 \
    --width 1920 \
    --height 1080 \
--shutter 20000000 \ (as you said also, the fps overrides the exposure)
    --gain 200 \
    --framerate 5 \

But yeah, nowhere near like in the ad video…

I’m used to the nomenclature of the motionplus variables for the camera control but I’m guessing that in the shutter speed you are asking for should result in an exposure time of 2.0 seconds. Because frame rate will override, you are getting a shutter speed of 0.2 seconds at best. I use an ExposureTime (which is the name of the variable in motion plus) of 0.5 sec (500000) and a framerate of 2 to get good night pictures.
