I’ve got a UCTRONICS 8MP IMX219 fisheye camera (B0287) on a Jetson TX2 and I’m stuck trying to find the matching deb package. The product page mentioned support for R32.6.1 and later, but I can’t locate any package for the TX2 specifically. Has anyone actually gotten this combination working?
Just to set expectations up front: that camera isn’t advertised as working with the Jetson TX2. For IMX219 modules, Arducam doesn’t release a separate camera driver — only the Jetson native IMX219 driver is used — and there is no matching deb package for the TX2. The usual route is to enable the IMX219 driver through Jetson-IO, following this guide: Jetson-io - Arducam Wiki
Thanks. Here’s my setup in case it helps: Jetson TX2, L4T 32.7.3, kernel 4.9.299-tegra-32.7.3-20221122092958, module type lanai-3636. I followed the Jetson-IO instructions, but jetson-io.py doesn’t show a CSI interface option at all. I also can’t find any matching deb package anywhere. The camera has never worked since I got it — I was hoping there was a working driver for the TX2.
Can you describe what you actually see when you run jetson-io.py? The missing CSI option is the key part here. Also, which release page were you checking for the deb packages?
I also checked the MIPI_Camera releases page at Releases · ArduCAM/MIPI_Camera · GitHub trying to find anything usable, but nothing lines up with the TX2. And I did try jetson-io.py to enable the CSI interface — the option simply isn’t there on L4T 32.7.3.
Right, that matches what we’ve found with this combination. The camera isn’t advertised as working with the Jetson TX module, so we don’t have further troubleshooting steps to offer for that specific setup. The CSI option missing in jetson-io.py on 32.7.3 is likely a symptom of the board not being on the supported list rather than a driver problem you can fix with a deb.
So just to be clear — is there no fisheye camera at all that supports the Jetson TX2? My core problem is that jetson-io.py doesn’t show the CSI interface option on L4T 32.7.3, even though the product page said R32.6.1 and later.
To be exact, Arducam doesn’t have any cameras for the TX2. The R32.6.1+ note is the general Jetson compatibility wording, but the TX2 isn’t one of the modules that works with this IMX219 module.
Understood. My actual requirement is just a fisheye lens camera working on a Jetson. If the TX2 isn’t going to work, which camera would be the best fit, and on which Jetson module? I’d rather source the right hardware first this time instead of guessing.
For picking a fisheye option that’s actually supported, take a look at the Arducam Jetson camera introductions here: Introduction to Arducam Jetson Cameras - Arducam Wiki . That covers which Arducam Jetson cameras work with which modules. Short version: choose a module from that list and pair it with a supported carrier/SoM — the TX2 isn’t on the supported list.
