I’m trying to get an IMX219 and IMX708 working on my Jetson Orin NX. Originally I had two (2) IMX219 connected and they were working great. Upon adding the IMX708 I found that it would not work without following additional steps, so I followed these instructions: Quick-Start-Guide - Arducam Wiki and it looks like I now have the IMX708 working, BUT the IMX219 is no longer found. I have no idea where to go from here, the instructions for the IMX219 imply it should just work and it doesn’t go into depth on how to re-install those drivers should installing drivers for IMX708 go wrong. Can someone please give me some guidance here?
For ref, dmesg shows output relating only to the IMX708, there are errors, but still it works… IMX219 however is not mentioned at all.

Alright, I’m on the right path now I think. Looking at the contents of the deb file (which was downloaded and installed during following the instructions) it appears that /opt/arducam/jetson-io was used to switch the system to an IMX708 Dual camera overlay, which omits the IMX219 entirely. Does this mean I need to write a custom overlay file for every camera combination I intend to use? I believe I’ve located the IMX219 overlay files here: ark_jetson_orin_nano_nx_device_tree/Linux_for_Tegra/source/hardware/nvidia/t23x/nv-public/overlay at main · ARK-Electronics/ark_jetson_orin_nano_nx_device_tree · GitHub but where do I find the IMX708 overlay? I’m not finding the overlay in GitHub - ArduCAM/MIPI_Camera which is very confusing since that’s where the release package is kept having the compiled version of the overlay.
Separately from the overlay issue, prior to installing the IMX708 package I had the IMX219 working over a V3Link HAT I had purchased for an RPi, however now even with using the IMX219 Dual overlay it no longer works. A standalone IMX219 does work. I’ve confirmed the V3Link HAT has the channel selected with an IMX219 connected, in fact I did another round of tests with an IMX219 connected to both channel just in case. Did the package installed for the IMX708 have an older set of software that doesn’t support working with V3Link HAT?
Alright, I found an Arducam page for getting the IMX219 working with the V3Link HAT, followed those instructions and the IMX219 camera attached to the V3Link HAT is working again. If I recall correctly this solution was working out of the box and I didn’t have to install any special software for things to work before.
So at this point… how do I get the V3Link HAT with IMX219 camera working on CSI1 alongside the IMX708 camera on CSI0? When I followed the instructions for setting up the IMX219 V3Link HAT it appears to have removed the IMX708 overlay, however it looks like imx708.ko is still installed, so maybe I just need an appropriate overlay at this point?? Again, where to find the uncompiled IMX708 overlay file for reference?
Hi,
We currently do not have a device tree for the IMX219 V3Link HAT and IMX708 setup on the Jetson Orin series. This is a customized request, and we are unable to provide direct support for this configuration. If you require a tailored solution, please contact our sales team([email protected]) to discuss customization options.
For your reference, you can find the uncompiled IMX708 overlay file at the following link: Uncompiled IMX708 overlay file
