Hi everyone, hoping someone can help before I pull my hair out. I’m trying to set up an Arducam HM01B0 QVGA Camera Module with a Raspberry Pi Pico. Running Windows 10 Pro and Arduino IDE 2.0.3, following the official guide at Arducam HM01B0 QVGA Camera Module for Raspberry Pi Pico - Arducam Wiki. The camera has never worked, and I can’t even get the board package installed. When I try to install ‘Arducam HM01B0 QVGA Camera Module for Raspberry Pi Pico’ from the board manager, it throws: Error: 13 INTERNAL: Cannot install platform: installing platform rp2040:[email protected]: testing local archive integrity: testing archive size: fetched archive size differs from size specified in index: 11653739 !=11657216. Any ideas?
Welcome to the forum. That error means the rp2040 platform archive your IDE downloaded doesn’t match the size the board manager index expects — so the integrity check fails before installation even starts. The usual culprit is an incomplete/corrupted download or a stale index entry. First steps: open File > Preferences and check your Additional Boards Manager URLs are correct, then try reloading the index. Also worth retrying the download on a stable connection.
Thanks. I already tried reloading the JSON and it made no difference — same error every single time. One more thing, can someone clarify how to load the Pico4ML board manager? I’ve seen it mentioned in the guide and I’m wondering if the missing platform is related to this install failing.
Pico4ML only shows up if its boards manager URL is actually added in Preferences — it won’t fix the rp2040 install by itself. Back to the error: since reloading the index didn’t help, let’s rule out a bad local cache. Close the IDE, then go to C:\Users<yourname>\AppData\Local\Arduino15\staging\packages and delete any rp2040 files sitting there (partial downloads can stick around). Reopen the IDE and try the install again.
Did that — cleared everything in the staging\packages folder and retried. No luck. The error is identical: Error: 13 INTERNAL: Cannot install platform: installing platform rp2040:[email protected]: testing local archive integrity: testing archive size: fetched archive size differs from size specified in index: 11653739 !=11657216. It always fetches 11653739 bytes while the index says 11657216, and that number never changes across attempts.
Thanks for nailing down the exact byte counts. Since it’s the same 11653739 vs 11657216 mismatch on every attempt, this looks like a stale board manager index entry or a mismatch between the hosted archive and what the index declares — not random corruption on your side. Reloading the JSON and clearing the staging cache won’t change that, so I’ve passed it to our R&D team to look at the rp2040:[email protected] package and its index entry. They’re following up on it now. For the moment there’s no confirmed fix from your end — I’ll post back here once R&D has more details.
