Damaged 200mm sensor extension cable for Raspberry Pi missing connector on one side

Hi, I’ve got the 200mm Sensor Extension Cable for Raspberry Pi V2/V3 (SKU B0439) and it isn’t working at all. At first I thought the connection cable was damaged, but I can’t tell exactly what’s wrong.

Taking a closer look, the connector isn’t mounted on one side of the cable. That looks like the problem.

Actually it’s completely unusable — the connector is missing on one side, so there’s nothing to plug in on that end.

I have another cable of the same kind and that one works fine because it has both connectors. Here are the photos.

Thanks for the photos. Just to be sure I’m following — can you confirm which photo is the working cable and which is the problem cable? Also, did this cable ever work when you first received it, or did it stop working after some time?

The first photo is the working cable and the second is the one missing the connector. I haven’t been able to use this cable at all, so I can’t really say whether it ever worked.

Understood. I’ve looped in our technical engineer to have a closer look at the photos and help check the issue.

I’ve checked the photos. The root cause is pretty clear: one side of this cable is missing its connector — it was never mounted. That’s why it can’t be used, and it matches the difference you’re seeing against the working cable. Can you confirm whether it arrived in this condition, or whether the connector might have come off at some point during handling?

To summarize where we are: the 200mm Sensor Extension Cable for Raspberry Pi V2/V3 (SKU B0439) is unusable because the connector on one side is not mounted. Comparing it with your working cable confirms this. The open question is whether it arrived in this state or the connector came off later — if you can confirm that, it would help us understand what happened.
