Hi everyone. I’m stuck with a color representation problem on my Arducam 1MP*4 Quadrascopic Camera Bundle Kit for OV9782. The preview shows an image, but the colors are completely wrong - looks like the channels are off or swapped somehow. I’ve already tried reseating the camera a few times, but nothing changes. Has anyone run into this?
Sorry to hear that. Could you share a bit more about your setup? What board are you running on, and how are you capturing the stream - libcamera or something else?
It’s connected to a Raspberry Pi and I’m using the Arducam 1MP*4 Quadrascopic Camera Bundle Kit for OV9782. For the preview I’m using libcamera. The stream comes up, but the colors are just not right.
Thanks, that helps. This symptom often points to the camera firmware on that module. I’ve sent you a firmware update package called sku_b0331.tar.gz.gz through private message. Please get that onto the Raspberry Pi and we’ll walk through the update step by step.
Once the file is on the Pi, start by decompressing it. Note the filename is sku_b0331.tar.gz.gz, so it’s a compressed archive that may need more than one decompression pass. After that, enter the folder that gets extracted.
Then run this command inside the folder:
sudo ./firmware_update -m sku_b0331 -i 10
Wait a while for the firmware update to finish. If it completes successfully, reboot the Raspberry Pi and then run your usual libcamera command to check whether the color issue is resolved.
Okay, I followed the steps. I uncompressed sku_b0331.tar.gz.gz and entered the folder without problems. But when I run sudo ./firmware_update -m sku_b0331 -i 10, it won’t execute. The firmware update just doesn’t run on my Raspberry Pi.
Could you please check the compressed file you sent me? And let me know if I made any mistakes - I really don’t understand why it doesn’t work. Here are a few screenshots of what I’m seeing:

Thanks for the screenshots. Looking at them, the firmware update tool can’t be executed on your side. That suggests either something is off with the compressed file itself or with the execution environment on the Pi. A couple of quick checks: since the file is a .tar.gz.gz, can you confirm it was fully decompressed in two passes? Also check that the firmware_update binary actually has execute permissions. In the meantime, I’ll re-verify the package on my end.
Just to summarize where we are: the update tool should be run as sudo ./firmware_update -m sku_b0331 -i 10, and only after a successful flash would you reboot and verify with the libcamera command. We haven’t confirmed a successful flash yet, so hold off on that verification step for now. I’m reviewing the package now and will get back to you with the next step.
