Can't get Arducam b0249 to work with Jetson AGX Thor

Hi everyone, I’m trying to get an Arducam b0249 working on a Jetson AGX Thor platform, but I’ve had no luck so far — I never got it to work at all. Has anyone successfully used this camera with the Jetson Thor? Is it even supported on this platform? I haven’t done any real troubleshooting yet because I’m not sure where to start. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Hello, thanks for reaching out. I’ve looked into this and unfortunately, there is no camera driver available for the b0249 on the Jetson AGX Thor platform. This isn’t something that can be resolved through troubleshooting — the driver support simply doesn’t exist for that combination at this time. I’d strongly recommend switching to a UVC (USB Video Class) camera instead. UVC cameras are plug-and-play on the Jetson Thor — you just connect them via USB and they work out of the box with no additional driver installation required. You can browse the available UVC camera modules here: USB Camera

Thanks for the quick reply — that explains a lot. I went ahead and ordered the Arducam 5MP OG05B10 Color Global Shutter USB 3.0 Camera (UVC) from the UVC lineup. Here’s the specific model I grabbed: Arducam 5MP OG05B10 Color Global Shutter USB 3.0 Camera Hopefully this one works out better on the Thor. I’ll update once I have the module in hand and get it connected.

That’s great, the OG05B10 is a solid choice — the global shutter will be really nice if you’re doing any motion capture or machine vision work. Since it’s a UVC-compliant camera, it really should be straightforward: just plug it into a USB 3.0 port on the Thor and it’ll enumerate as a standard video device (typically /dev/videoX). No driver compilation, no device tree changes needed. Once you receive it, definitely let us know how it goes — and if you run into any quirks during setup, just post here and we’ll work through it.
