Can't find IMX519 driver deb package for Jetson Nano on JetPack 4.4

Hi all. I’m trying to get an IMX519 camera working on my Jetson Nano but I’m stuck at the driver install. The Arducam guide says to install a deb package for the IMX519 driver, but I can’t find a matching package anywhere for my system. I searched the repo and nothing matches for my setup. Starting to wonder if there’s even a build available for the version I’m running. Anyone else hit this?

Welcome! The IMX519 driver packages on Jetson are tied to the specific Jetpack/L4T release, so the first thing to check is what you’re actually running. Can you share:

  • Jetpack version (or the output of /etc/nv_tegra_release)
  • kernel version (uname -r)
  • Jetson model (e.g. Nano dev kit vs custom carrier board)

That’ll tell us which deb package (if any) should apply to you.

Sure, here’s what I have:

  • Jetson Nano Developer Kit (the stock dev kit)
  • Jetpack 4.4, L4T 32.4.3
  • Kernel: 4.9.140-tegra-32.4.3-20200625213809

I’ve been looking for a package for L4T 32.4.3 specifically and just can’t find one. No errors to paste because the package itself isn’t there to install in the first place.

Thanks for the details. I checked the supported configurations for the IMX519 driver, and here’s the issue: Jetpack 4.4 / L4T 32.4.3 is not a supported version for the IMX519 driver. The deb packages are built per L4T release, and for versions outside the supported list there is simply no corresponding deb package. So your search isn’t missing anything - the package genuinely doesn’t exist for 32.4.3.

The supported Jetpack/L4T versions are listed in the Arducam Jetson camera docs here:
https://docs.arducam.com/Nvidia-Jetson-Camera/Introduction-to-Arducam-Jetson-Cameras/

I’d verify your Jetpack version against that list before anything else.

Ah, that makes sense now - I thought I was just looking in the wrong place. So is there any way to make the IMX519 work on 4.4, or do I need to switch to a different Jetpack version entirely?

Unfortunately there’s no workaround that makes the IMX519 driver available on Jetpack 4.4. The driver’s availability and compatibility are tied to the Jetpack/L4T version, and L4T 32.4.3 isn’t one of the supported ones. The path forward is to check the supported Jetpack versions in the docs linked above, then move to a compatible Jetpack version and install the IMX519 driver there. Once you’re on a supported L4T release, the matching deb package will be available and the normal install steps should work.
