Cannot install IMX519 camera driver on Jetson Nano JetPack 4.6.1 L4T 32.7.1 kernel 4.9.337

Hi, I’ve been trying to get the IMX519 working on my NVIDIA Jetson Nano following the Arducam quick start guide (Quick-Start-Guide - Arducam Wiki), but the install keeps failing. It stops with this error:

Cannot find the corresponding deb package, please send the following information to [email protected]

Has anyone else run into this?

Sorry you’re hitting that. Could you share a few details so we can narrow it down? What Jetson board are you on, and what kernel/JetPack version is actually running? You can get the kernel string with:

uname -r

Sure. It’s an NVIDIA Jetson Nano Developer Kit. uname -r returns:

4.9.337-tegra-32.7.4-20230608212426

I’m on JetPack 4.6.1 / L4T 32.7.1.

Thanks. That kernel string actually looks like it maps to L4T 32.7.4 rather than 32.7.1, but let’s not jump ahead. Can you run the installer again and paste the full log output? If it generated any files along the way, share those here too.

Here’s what the installer prints before it dies:

Kernel version: 4.9.337-tegra-32.7.4-20230608212426
Jetson type: NVIDIA Jetson Nano Developer Kit

Then it hits the same deb package error. I’ve attached the files it produced:

  • modules.txt
  • imx519_links.txt
  • install_full.sh

Thanks, those help. The key detail is the kernel version: 4.9.337-tegra-32.7.4-20230608212426 corresponds to JetPack/L4T 32.7.4. So even though the image/label says 4.6.1 / 32.7.1, the actual L4T on the board is 32.7.4. Right now Arducam doesn’t have a matching IMX519 deb package for 32.7.4, which is why the installer can’t find one and throws that ‘Cannot find the corresponding deb package’ error.

That’s strange, I thought I flashed 32.7.1. So is there no way to make it work on 32.7.4? What should I do?

Correct, the installer looks up a deb package based on the kernel/L4T version it detects, and there’s nothing published for 32.7.4 yet, so it can’t proceed. The workaround is to use a JetPack/L4T version that’s on Arducam’s official supported list for the Jetson Nano Developer Kit:

https://docs.arducam.com/Nvidia-Jetson-Camera/Introduction-to-Arducam-Jetson-Cameras/#official-nvidia-jetson-nano-development-kit

To wrap up: your kernel string 4.9.337-tegra-32.7.4-20230608212426 corresponds to L4T 32.7.4, which isn’t currently supported for IMX519, and that’s why the installer can’t locate a matching deb package. Before re-running the install, make sure the JetPack/L4T version on the board matches one in the supported list. If you’re already on a listed version and still see this, paste the kernel string and installer log again and we can check further.
