Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I’m trying to get an Arducam 64MP camera working on my Raspberry Pi 4 (8GB) and I followed the walkthrough here:
When I run the install/configure step it fails with:
Cannot find the corresponding package, please send the following information to [email protected]
That error usually comes from the installer script when it queries the Arducam repo for a matching libcamera package and comes up empty. To narrow it down, can you confirm a few things about your environment?
What OS image are you running (Bookworm or Bullseye, and 32-bit or 64-bit)?
Are you booting from an SD card or a USB drive?
Does uname -a show 6.1.0-rpi4-rpi-v8 as expected?
And do you know which camera module this is exactly (64MP Hawk Eye, etc.)?
Sure. It’s the 64MP camera (Hawk Eye). The Pi is running 64-bit Bookworm, kernel 6.1.0-rpi4-rpi-v8, and the hardware revision is d03115. I’m booting from a Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB SSD in an ORICO enclosure (RTL9210 chipset) over USB, not an SD card. The installer is definitely looking for a libcamera package for bookworm-arm64.
Thanks, that matches the error exactly. The script is looking for a libcamera build for bookworm-arm64 and not finding it in the Arducam package repo. That’s usually what triggers that “send the following information to support” message.
Just to rule out a bad script or network issue: when you run the installer, do you get any earlier warnings before that final error, like a repo fetch failure or a 404 on a package list? Or does it go straight to the “Cannot find the corresponding package” message?
It goes pretty much straight to that message after it detects my setup. No obvious network errors, and other apt sources work fine. The script prints the detected hardware revision, kernel version, and package line, then immediately says it can’t find the corresponding package. I re-ran it a couple of times with the same result.
That behavior points to the actual root cause rather than a networking problem: Arducam hasn’t published a Bookworm (bookworm-arm64) libcamera package for the 64MP camera yet. The installer checks for a matching package, finds nothing for your OS, and exits with that message. So on Bookworm, the 64MP camera setup simply isn’t supported with the standard install path at the moment.
The recommended workaround is to use Bullseye instead of Bookworm for now. Burn the Bullseye OS onto the Pi (you can keep booting from your SSD enclosure once it’s set up) and then follow the 64MP Hawk Eye quick start guide here:
Got it, so there’s no way to make it work while staying on Bookworm? I’d prefer not to reimage if I can avoid it, but if Bullseye is the only supported path I’ll do that. Is there anywhere I should watch for Bookworm support being added later?
Correct — there isn’t a Bookworm libcamera package available for the 64MP camera right now, so the installer can’t complete on your current setup. Reimaging to Bullseye is the supported route at the moment.
For Bookworm compatibility updates, keep an eye on this thread:
To summarize: the failure was caused by the missing bookworm-arm64 libcamera package for the 64MP camera. Arducam doesn’t support Bookworm for this camera yet, so the workaround is to burn Bullseye OS and use the 64MP Hawk Eye quick start guide. Once Bookworm support is released, that thread should be updated.
