Cannot find IMX477 deb package for JetPack 6.0 on Jetson Orin Nano with kernel 5.15

Hi everyone, I’m trying to get an Arducam IMX477 camera going on a Jetson running JetPack 6.0, but I can’t find the corresponding deb package for it anywhere. Has anyone managed to install the IMX477 on this version? I’m a bit stuck before I’ve even started.

Could you share a bit more about your setup? The exact Jetson model and kernel version would help narrow down which package you should be looking at.

Sure. Kernel version is 5.15.122-tegra-36.2.0-20231218214829 and the board is a NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano Developer Kit.

Thanks. Just so I’m clear — you’re after the Arducam IMX477 driver deb specifically, and you can’t find one matching that JetPack/kernel combination, right? Have you found any package at all or does nothing show up?

Right, I’ve been hunting for the deb package for the IMX477 but none of them seem to match this JetPack 6.0 / kernel combo. Is there maybe a beta driver available for it? Or would the 5.10 kernel version work instead?

I dug into this. For the Jetson Nano line, Arducam doesn’t currently support JetPack 5.10 or 6.1, and your JetPack 6.0 install falls outside the supported versions for the IMX477 package/driver you’re looking for. So there’s no matching Arducam deb for that setup right now. The recommended route is to use the native IMX477 camera driver on your current JetPack version instead of a dedicated Arducam deb. You can enable it by following the Jetson-IO guide here: Jetson-io - Arducam Wiki

Ah okay, that makes sense. I’ll give the native IMX477 driver a shot through that Jetson-IO guide and see how it goes.

Sounds good. To recap: Arducam doesn’t provide support for JetPack 5.10 or 6.1 on the Jetson Nano, so the native IMX477 driver enabled through the Jetson-IO documentation is the current workaround for your JetPack 6.0 Orin Nano setup.
