Hi everyone. I’m trying to get an Arducam IMX477 camera working on my Jetson Nano (Developer Kit). I ran the automatic driver installer they provide, install_imx477.sh, but it fails right away. Has anyone run into this before?
Welcome to the forum. Could you paste the exact output from the script? It would also help to know your kernel version and which Jetson board you’re using.
Sure. Running ./install_imx477.sh gives this:
Cannot find the corresponding deb package, please send the following information to support
Kernel version: 4.9.253-tegra-32.6.1-20210726122000
Jetson type: Nano (Developer Kit Version)
Looks like it’s complaining about the kernel version, but I’m not sure what it wants me to do.
That error means the script is looking for a prebuilt .deb that matches your kernel and board combination and it isn’t finding one. It’s not a camera fault. The script echoes your kernel version and board type so you can pass that info along to get the correct package. Did you try installing the driver manually instead of using the script?
I looked around for a manual driver package but I couldn’t find one that matched either. Everything I found seemed to be for different kernel versions or different boards. So I’m kind of stuck at the same place.
Got it. The script is failing because there’s no deb in its index for kernel 4.9.253-tegra-32.6.1-20210726122000 on a Nano Developer Kit. To pin down the correct package, could you send over a photo of the front and back of the Nano board? There are a few board revisions and the matching package can differ. If you’d rather not post the photos publicly, you can send them to Arducam support directly.
Will do. Just to confirm, the info needed is the kernel version 4.9.253-tegra-32.6.1-20210726122000 and Jetson type Nano (Developer Kit Version), plus the front/back board photos, right?
Correct. To summarize where we are: the automatic installer (install_imx477.sh) can’t find a matching deb for your kernel/Jetson combination, and there’s no readily available manual driver for that combo yet. The next step is to send the kernel version, the Jetson type, and the front/back board photos to Arducam support so they can provide the correct deb package. The issue isn’t resolved yet, but that should get you the right driver.
