Cannot find deb package for IMX477 on Jetson Xavier NX kernel 4.9.253-tegra

Hi everyone, I’m trying to get my Arducam 12MP IMX477 IR CUT NIGHT VISION CAMERA working on a Jetson Xavier NX (Developer Kit version). The board boots from the SD card and the kernel is 4.9.253-tegra-32.7.1-20220219090344. My problem is I cannot find the corresponding deb package for the camera driver. This is the camera I’m using:

Has anyone run into this on the Xavier NX?

Can you confirm which guide you’re following? Also, when you say you can’t find the deb package, is that an actual error from the install command, or are you just not sure which package matches your kernel version?

I was following the Arducam quick start guide. I ran the driver install command in the terminal, it seemed to go through the install, and at the end it asked me to reboot. So I rebooted the board.

Got it. After the reboot, run the verification commands from the same guide again and let me know what output you get. If there’s an error, a screenshot of the terminal would really help.

After the reboot I ran the commands again, and it is still showing like this:

The output doesn’t look right, same issue as before the reboot.

Thanks, that screenshot helps. Just so we’re on the same page, are you using the Install Driver section from this page?

https://docs.arducam.com/Nvidia-Jetson-Camera/Native-Camera/Quick-Start-Guide/#install-driver

Your kernel 4.9.253-tegra-32.7.1 is an L4T 32.7.1 / JetPack 4.6.x build, so the package you pick needs to match that.

Yes, that’s the exact guide I used:

https://docs.arducam.com/Nvidia-Jetson-Camera/Native-Camera/Quick-Start-Guide/#install-driver

I ran the command from that section, it installed and asked for a reboot, but after the reboot the driver still isn’t working. Could I be grabbing the wrong deb package for this kernel?

Let’s go step by step. From the Install Driver section, run the install command again in a clean terminal, save the full output, and reboot when it prompts you. Once it’s back up, run the verification commands from that same section and paste the full output here. That way we can see whether the package is actually installing for your kernel version or failing silently.

I did exactly that. The install appears to complete, then it says a reboot is required, I reboot, and after boot the same verification commands still show the issue. Here’s the output after the reboot:

Thanks for the extra detail. To summarize where we are: this is the 12MP IMX477 IR CUT NIGHT VISION CAMERA on a Jetson Xavier NX Developer Kit booting from SD card, kernel 4.9.253-tegra-32.7.1-20220219090344. The issue is that the corresponding deb package for the camera driver isn’t being found/installed correctly on this setup. The current workaround is to follow the official Arducam Nvidia Jetson Native Camera Quick Start Guide, specifically the Install Driver section (Quick-Start-Guide - Arducam Wiki), run the driver install command, reboot when prompted, then run the verification commands again. The root cause isn’t fully confirmed yet — we still need the exact text output from the verification step to narrow down whether it’s a package matching issue or the install failing silently.
