Cannot find corresponding package installing Arducam libcamera on Jammy Jellyfish kernel 5.19.0-40-generic

Hi everyone, I just bought an Arducam camera and I’m following the Arducam quickstart guide to get it installed. The script runs for a bit but then fails with this error: “Cannot find the corresponding package, please send the following information to [email protected]”. Has anyone run into this before? I’m not really sure what I’m doing wrong.

Thanks for the report. That message comes from the package lookup step of the installer — it means it couldn’t match a package for your system. Could you paste the full output the script printed? Specifically the Hardware Revision, Kernel Version, and Package lines it detected. Also, which camera/board are you using?

I’m on Ubuntu 22.04 (Jammy). I notice the Hardware Revision line is blank. I tried following the quickstart guide steps exactly but it keeps failing at this point.

Thanks, that helps. I can see the installer detected the OS release correctly (Jammy Jellyfish / Ubuntu 22.04) and your kernel is 5.19.0-40-generic. The blank Hardware Revision field is interesting — that’s normally read from the board, and if it comes back empty the script can’t select the right package. What hardware platform are you running this on? For example, Raspberry Pi, Jetson, a PC with a USB shield, etc. That will help narrow down which libcamera package should be used.

Honestly I’m not sure what to put for the hardware revision. It’s a recently purchased Arducam camera, and I just plugged it in and ran the guide. I don’t think I’ve been asked for a platform before. Would the blank hardware revision be causing the ‘Cannot find the corresponding package’ error?

The installer needs both the OS release and the hardware platform to pick the correct libcamera build for Jammy, and with the Hardware Revision field empty it falls back to that ‘Cannot find the corresponding package’ message.
