Hey, I’m trying to install the Arducam camera driver on my Jetson but the installer keeps failing. I get this error:

Cannot find the corresponding deb package, please send the following information to [email protected]

I’ve been following the quick start guide at Quick-Start-Guide - Arducam Wiki and I’m stuck. Any idea what’s going wrong?

Which Jetson module are you on, and what’s your kernel version? That error usually means the installer can’t match a prebuilt .deb to your L4T release, so knowing the exact version helps.

It’s an NVIDIA Orin NX Developer Kit. Kernel version is 5.10.104-tegra-35.3.1-20230319081403.

Thanks, that confirms it. You’re running L4T 35.3.1 (kernel 5.10.104-tegra). The Arducam Jetvariety camera driver for L4T 35.3.1 hasn’t been released yet, so there’s no matching deb package for the installer to grab — which is exactly why you’re seeing that error.

Ah, that’s awkward for me. Support for the Orin NX 8GB was only added starting with L4T 35.3.1, so downgrading to an older JetPack isn’t really an option. How am I supposed to use the camera with the Orin NX 8GB then?

You’re right — the Orin NX 8GB needs 35.3.1, and we haven’t released the Jetvariety driver for 35.3.1 yet. Normally the recommendation is to burn JetPack to a supported version from the list, but that doesn’t help in your case. Here’s the current supported version matrix for reference:

Got it. So is there any temporary workaround I can use on 35.3.1 while waiting for the driver, or am I just stuck until it’s released?

There is a temporary workaround. You can enable the native IMX477 camera driver through jetson-io instead of using the Jetvariety package. The steps are in the application note here: Jetson-io - Arducam Wiki

So to summarize: the ‘Cannot find the corresponding deb package’ error happens because the Jetvariety driver for L4T 35.3.1 isn’t released yet. In the meantime, configure jetson-io to enable the native imx477 driver as described in the app note — that should get the camera usable until the official 35.3.1 driver ships.
