Cannot find corresponding deb package for Arducam IMX477 on Waveshare Jetson Nano TX2 NX

Hi everyone, I’m trying to set up an Arducam IMX477 12MP camera on my Jetson board. I followed the Native Camera Quick Start Guide (Quick-Start-Guide - Arducam Wiki), but when I run the install it fails with this error:

Cannot find the corresponding deb package, please send the following information to [email protected]

I attached a screenshot of the error below. Any idea what’s going on?

That error usually means the installer script couldn’t match a prebuilt deb package to your platform. Can you share your kernel version and Jetson type/model? The script normally prints those two values along with that message.

Sure, here’s what the script reports:

Kernel version: 4.9.337-tegra-32.7.4-20230608211515
Jetson type: lanai-3636

The board itself is a Waveshare JETSON_NANO_TX2_NX (https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/JETSON_NANO_TX2_NX). I followed the Arducam guide step by step, but it stops right there at the deb package lookup.

Thanks, that explains it. Based on those details, the Arducam camera driver does not support the Waveshare JETSON_NANO_TX2_NX, so there’s no matching deb package available for it. The installer isn’t broken on your end — it just has nothing to install for that specific board.

The workaround for boards not supported by the Arducam camera driver is to use the Nvidia native IMX477 driver instead. Follow the steps in this application note:

https://docs.arducam.com/Nvidia-Jetson-Camera/Application-note/Jetson-io/

Got it, thanks. Just so I’m clear — for this board I should skip the Arducam installer entirely and enable the IMX477 through Jetson-IO instead?

Correct. For the Waveshare JETSON_NANO_TX2_NX, switch to the Nvidia native IMX477 driver and go through the Jetson-IO application note. That note walks through enabling the camera on the Jetson without relying on the Arducam driver deb package. If you hit any issues along the way, post back with the output and we’ll take it from there.
