Cannot find Arduino-master.zip or local disk D: in Arduino libraries - Arducam Mini 2MP SPI Camera

Hi everyone, I’m trying to get the Arducam Mini 2MP SPI Camera Module working with an Arduino. I’m following the ‘Arducam Mini 2MP SPI Camera Module for Arduino Tutorial’. I downloaded Arduino-master.zip and unzipped it, then tried to apply the steps from the tutorial. But I’m stuck: the tutorial keeps pointing to a software (D:) drive where the zip was placed, and I can’t find that drive on my computer. I also can’t find the ‘Arduino’ and ‘libraries’ folders it mentions. Has anyone run into this?

Welcome! Can you share a bit more about your setup, like whether you’re on Windows, Mac, or Linux, and which Arduino board you’re using? That D: path in the tutorial is likely just the drive the original author had on their machine, so it’s not something you need to replicate. Where did you end up unzipping Arduino-master.zip?

Thanks. I’m on Windows 10 with an Arduino UNO. I only have a C: drive, no D: drive at all. I unzipped the Arduino-master.zip folder onto my desktop, but I don’t see an ‘Arduino’ folder or a ‘libraries’ folder inside it, and the tutorial mentions placing files there. I also checked Documents\Arduino and couldn’t find a libraries folder either.

Got it. That’s exactly the confusion. The tutorial is written around the author’s own D: drive layout, so those paths don’t match your machine. For the Arduino UNO + Arducam mini camera setup, there’s a cleaner set of instructions. I’ve sent you the document Arduino-UNO-arducam-mini-camera.docx through private message. Please check your messages and follow those steps instead of the original tutorial’s D: path references.

Just checked my messages, I got the document. So the D: drive part isn’t required at all? I’ll go through the document now.

Correct, ignore the D: drive references from the old tutorial. The key issue was that the tutorial points to a local disk (D:) path plus ‘Arduino’ and ‘libraries’ folders that don’t exist on your computer, which made it unclear where the Arduino-master.zip contents should go. Follow the steps in the Arduino-UNO-arducam-mini-camera.docx document I sent, and it should line up with a standard Arduino UNO setup. Let me know if you hit anything else while working through it.
